Periods/areas of interest: The long 18th century, primarily the British Atlantic World (England, North America, the British Caribbean, West Africa). I'm a huge 18th century nerd and love any and everything about it; I also dip into the Restoration and Regency eras on either end of it, though I am generally more tentative the further we get from the 1700s. I'm also fascinated by World War I, though my knowledge there is more scattershot and casual; I'll also admit to having a soft spot for the Victorian Era. I love women's history and social history more generally, as well as LGBT history; I'm also very into material culture and especially historical clothing, which I'm a massive nerd about. Historical Fandoms: I'm primarily a Black Sails person; I also have strong feelings about Hamilton. I'm also very into a few somewhat more obscure book fandoms, especially for the Lord John series by Diana Gabaldon (mystery novels starring a gay British Army officer in mid-18th century London) and the Society of Gentlemen series by K.J. Charles (Regency m/m romance novels; my favorite features a radical bookseller and a Tory government official), as well as books that really can't be said to have fandoms at all, but that I love dearly: Golden Hill, by Francis Spufford (1740s New York, gorgeous writing, I can't say too much or I'd spoil it) and Life Mask, by Emma Donoghue (1790s lesbians, richly detailed and all the characters were real historical figures). I'm also getting into historical sewing. For WWI, I adore the Regeneration series by Pat Barker; I also like exploration of the fallout of WWI, and to that end I really enjoy things like the Lord Peter Wimsey series by Dorothy L. Sayers and Peaky Blinders. Got any more historical comms we've missed? I'm brand-new to dw after the tumblr nsfw ban, so I'm just glad I stumbled upon this one. Any other comms/events/ideas you'd like to see here? Looking at others' suggestions, I very much second promptfests and "promote your obscure historical fandom" posts (obviously, I have a lot of them). Linkspams/round-up posts would also be really interesting too, though I know that puts a lot of work on the mods.
