Hi and welcome! Your interests are definitely cool! I keep meaning to get more into the pre-1600s European history - I think my education at school neglected to tell any of the interesting parts about it, which is not surprising, and then I just keep running into things and wondering why I didn't know it before (just lately, I've been listening to a few podcasts on Mary Stuart and am wondering why the heck they didn't tell us all that stuff in school [should note that I'm not from an English-speaking country]). But, I also watched The Lion in Winter at a formative age - in my case it was the play being put on in one of the theatres in my then-hometown - and that definitely impressed upon me that history is complex and sexy, though I guess I didn't find enough books on the topic to read more on it, which is why I gravitated more towards newer stuff.

Also, ooh, dance history. I've gotten into ballet during the past few years - both watching and learning it myself - and I'm kind of fascinated by its history and how it's developed through the centuries, though so far I haven't had enough time and energy to get deeper into it.
