Periods/areas of interest: General interest, but a fair bit of early modern like late Valois/early Bourbon courts in France and Late Stuarts in England especially Queen Anne, was in Age of Sail fandom for a long time, American Civil War and Reconstruction, Gilded Age New York, Jazz Age/interwar, World War II, Space race era NASA.

[community profile] sinbadthesailor for the Sinbad 2012 show, but it's pretty much dead, like the fandom. Woe. [community profile] ssrconfidential is an Agent Carter exchange.
Any other comms/events/ideas you'd like to see here? Some kind of weekly resource links, themed weeks, chat posts?

muccamukk: Gregory Peck looks up prayerfully. (Christian: Say a little prayer)
From: [personal profile] muccamukk
Probably count out Sinbad then. It's very much a historical fantasy show that was light on the history (think Xena on a boat). I do think AC is more history than superhero though.

I forgot to add a bunch of WWII movies that I'm in a fandom of one for. Oh, well.

sharpiefan: Close-up of a hand writing with a quill pen (Writing)

That's understandable; the comm doesn't have a header banner or anything, so I totally see how the mistake got made!

muccamukk: Gregory Peck looks up from the book he's reading. (Books: Hello Reading)
From: [personal profile] muccamukk
Forgot to add for fandoms: Guns of Navarone (1961), Twelve O'Clock High (1949), and a variety of other Gregory Peck movies. I like classic Hollywood generally.

Periods/areas of interest: I would have to say I have a pretty general interest in history, probably with a little too much emphasis on American and British history. I have a definite interest in the World Wars and the Regency/Age of Sail though.

Historical Fandoms: Without Supernatural Elements: The Alienist, Band of Brothers, Black Sails, Downton Abbey, Dunkirk, Fury, The Great Gatsby, Hornblower, Jeeves & Wooster, King Arthur, Les Misérables, The Magnificent Seven, Master and Commander, The Pacific, Psmith, Vikings
With Supernatural Elements: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Agent Carter, Beauty and the Beast, Fantastic Beasts, The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Victor Frankenstein

Got any more historical comms we've missed? I learned about all the comms I know about from you so, I really couldn't say.

Any other comms/events/ideas you'd like to see here? I'm new at comms in general, so I am willing to follow your lead. :D

Periods/areas of interest: Ancient Greece and Rome, Renaissance Italy, Medieval Mongolia, 18th Century Europe/Age of Sail/Georgian Era/Napoleonic Wars, Russia.
Historical Fandoms: My main current ones are Spartacus, Marco Polo, and Harlots. I also love Xena but that probably doesn't count for this comm. Have previously been really into Jane Austen, Hornblower, and War and Peace.
Got any more historical comms we've missed? No, I'm new to DW!
Any other comms/events/ideas you'd like to see here? I don't know what content is usually found in comms so I don't know yet.

22degreehalo: A drawing of an orange, medium-haired cat (Hamilton)
From: [personal profile] 22degreehalo
Sooo hey there! *waves*

Periods/areas of interest: Though I'm generally interested in a number of periods, my absolute love is Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens. I've written quite a number of fic involving them (separately or together) on AO3 at [archiveofourown.org profile] FallacyFallacy, plus a very long fic focusing on John reuniting with Francis Kinloch during 1780 which I've been working on for several years?, and I have a history blog over at [tumblr.com profile] ADHD-AHamilton! As a result I'm mainly really interested in the American Revolution and the 18th century in general and I mayyy believe the Victorian era to be extremely overrated as a period :P I'm also just really interested in queer history in general!
Historical Fandoms: I like Hamilton, obviously, but I don't really write for it other than by drawing from the actors for modern AU fic (which I rarely write) and I basically don't read for it. I've just started watching through Black Sails, too! Fandoms I enjoy but am not really currently active in: Pirate of the Caribbean, Jeeves and Wooster, War and Peace, The Great Gatsby, Beauty and the Beast, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, and Game of Thrones if that counts!
Got any more historical comms we've missed? Don't think so - I only just came back to DW and the historical RPF is new to me!
Any other comms/events/ideas you'd like to see here? Not so far!

Oh, you bet. I even work in a library too. ;) I feel like I've inadvertently left of something out, but for the life of me, I can't think of what. *shrugs* It's probably just the head cold talking.

Periods/areas of interest: Music history/musicology, primarily Beethoven (The Man Who Cannot Decide How He Really Feels About Napoleon.) That can take me anywhere, but generally, I poke around most between 1750 and 1840. Currently trying to get better at parsing through the more nitty gritty French Revolutionary politics. I ramble about fashion history a lot as well.

Historical Fandoms: I am an Old Fandom Lurking Presence w.r.t. Les Mis and Phantom of the Opera. I like Victor Hugo a lot. Also a fan of Elisabeth, Notre Dame de Paris, and archiving all those obscure Phantom adaptations.

I'm new to Dreamwidth following the tumblr exodus, so I'm combing through comms and figuring out how it works. Excited to meet new people and check out some new discussions!

Periods/areas of interest: I don’t find any periods uninteresting, but I have a special soft spot for the 17th century.

Historical Fandoms: Versailles. Jeeves & Wooster. Jane Austen. Jane Eyre. A lot of fandom which mix history with more fantastical elements like Penny Dreadful, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and Agent Carter.
